The learning skills system is not, in my own humble opinion, 'broken'. It is simply over stated and overly emphasised as an 'essential' group of skills. The greatest skill you can learn in this game is not 1 you can buy a skill book for - it's patience. You either have it or you don't.
The problem isn't patience, it's the expected lifespan of EVE. Will the game still be here five years from now when a rookie catches up to my account in terms of skills? Will it be here seven years from now when they catch up to the current old vets? I don't think that question is so easy to answer (espcially given how many of EVE's resources have been diverted to DUST, EVEGATE, and THESIMS err Incarana). In other words: Can I really expect someone to HTFU and get to training if I don't honestly believe the game will be around when he reaches my (account) age?
I think it's time to up the ante on the training process and learning skill reform is a good place to start.

I hope they don't change learning skills but it looks like they will. The single most important law of Eve once again proves itself, why make the effort when you can whine.
Quote: My Summary:
Keep Learning Skills same camp fear they will lose something. Some fear loss of the edge they'll have years from now over others that do not max out learning. Some fear loss of the choice to train or not train learning and the harsh consequences that result. These people hate the pro-fun gamers who want to see a new player detriment / time sink removed.
Bingo.

I'm laughing, not whining. There is a difference although it may be beyond you to comprehend.
You called yourself bitter. I don't generally associate bitterness and laughter. But, please feel free to continue your oh-so-intelligent ad-hominem attacks.
